I figured since Amazon cards are only sent out on the 1st and 17th of the month, I'd have to wait just as long to get it as if I bought one as soon as I could afford it, so I saved up until I had 1800 SB and bought four of them, two yesterday, two today, as there's a two-prize-per-day limit. (Also a limit of five of the same prize every month, so I can only get one more until June.) This brings my total up to 13 $5 cards, or $65.
Now I only have 33 lonely SB left.
Oh! I got another referral today, this one is from getrefs.com so I dunno who it is yet. Hopefully they are active.

Get slightly fewer SBs sometimes, but win more often.
This week (I'm not sure if this is going to be a permanent thing) SwagBucks is doing a thing where you will sometimes earn slightly fewer SB for a search (between 5-9, I think) but you will win more often. Note this is "sometimes"--earlier tonight I got a 20, and then an 11 about half an hour later, and the last one I got tonight was a 7. Also I'm seeing a lot of people earn in the 20s and 30s in the Recent Winners box when I do a search. I think it will all balance out in the end, though.

Two more Amazon cards received
I got both the Amazon cards I ordered between the 17th and the 1st (which are the two dates the cards are sent). I got enough SB for another one during that time period, however, there is a limit of five of the same prize per month, and I'd reached that limit. Anyway, I've got ten more dollars in my Amazon account now. :D

First post, and some SwagBucks tips.
I have a LiveJournal as well (http://mystical-chickn.livejournal.com) but I think a separate blog would be feasible for my SwagBucks posts.
http://swagbucks.com/refer/mysticalchicken
In a nutshell, SwagBucks is a search engine that you can use instead of Google or Yahoo (actually, it's powered by Google and ask.com) and occasionally win points called--what else?--Swag Bucks. Get enough of these and you can cash in for prizes. I always go for the $5 Amazon gift cards, myself, as they're a good deal (450 SB for one) and you can stack them on Amazon, meaning you can use as many as you want to buy something (say you wanted something that was $20, you can use 4 $5 cards for it, provided you also have enough for shipping). As of April 21, 2010, I've gotten seven $5 AGCs and am only 30 SB away from an eighth, and I've been a member since around the end of February '10. (edit: I got my eighth Amazon card the same night, with 12 SB left over... yay for referrals!)
I actually sent the following in a Facebook email (http://facebook.com/mysticalchicken) to a few new referrals, but I thought it would be better if I just copypasta'd it (with a few changes/additions) into a blog post and linked to it.

So, here are various ways to earn Swagbucks (SB) and some other tips:
Searching - this is the main way to earn. If you want to search something online, use the SB search engine instead of Google or whatever you normally use. You won't win SB for every search--I usually average about 2-3 wins per day. The lowest denomination is 10 and the highest I think is either 100 or 1000, but the latter two are extremely rare, and I've never gotten either. (Most I've won in a single search was 30.) Beware of searching too much or clicking search results too fast, or they might think you're a bot and block you temporarily (you'll know when you're blocked because you'll get the rules page when you try to search), from a few hours to a day. I usually wait about 10-15 seconds before clicking the result I want. Some of the results are ads, you can tell which ones those are because in green text below it will say "Sponsored by..." Anyway, searching generally nets you around 30-50 SB a day (the latter number if you're lucky). Note that if you become one of my referrals, I will get ONLY the SBs you get from searching--none from codes, special offers, or anything else. I will get an equal number of your search SBs up to 1000 (so if you win 12, I'll get 12; if you win 30, I'll get 30).
Special Offers: These are kind of a hit-and-miss with some people. Most of them credit for me and I don't bother inquiring about the ones that don't unless they're worth a high amount of SBs. I usually only do the free ones that only require registration and a valid email. Never do the offers that require downloading anything (unless it's just a FB app) because those seem to be rife with viruses/malware. There are four "walls" worth of offers, each provided by a different company. Wall 2 (Offerpal) seems to be the most popular. On Wall 1, there are also "tasks" that you can do (click the Tasks tab) and they change often.
No Obligation Special Offers/Toolbar Bucks: NOSOs as they are generally known are also in the Special Offers section, near the top of the page. Click the button that says "Go Now!" under where it says "View our No Obligation offers and WIN Swag Bucks!" You can do this once a day, anytime after 10 pm PDT, and you'll get between 1-3 SB each time. Downloading the SB toolbar also gets you 1-3 SB daily if you refresh it after 10 pm PDT. This may not seem like much but it does add up over time.
Homepage videos: On the SwagBucks homepage, scroll down until you see a banner with the words Special Offers in the corner (it's right below the windows for "Featured Prizes/Recently Redeemed Prizes"). If you see an icon in the banner that has a little blue circle with a white triangle inside it, click it and watch the entire video that appears. Do this with all the videos you find on the banner, and when you get to the end, wait a minute or two, log out and back in and your total should have gone up. Go back to the banner and see if any videos are still there; if they are, you can watch and most likely get credited for them again. Some videos I've been able to watch four or five times a day before they disappeared. They'll generally reappear around 24 hours later. You can probably get around 15-30 SB a day this way depending on how many vids there are and how many times you can watch each of them. (note: sometimes the vids don't reappear for whatever reason) Also note that videos are NOT available for Canadian residents.
Codes: These are random, some days there are codes, some days there aren't. The Swag Guy (TSG) will post a code somewhere--either on the SB blog, Twitter (@swagbucks), FB page, or somewhere on the Swagbucks website itself. You can tell when there's an active code because the SwagBucks FB wall will be teeming with "Thanks TSG!"-type posts. Download and install the Swidget somewhere (there's instructions on how to put it permanently on your FB page in the Discussions section of the SB FB page), and you can check it for a clue where the code is if there's an active one. Very Important Rule: it is forbidden to post active codes. You can post hints as to where the code is, but you can't post the code itself, nor can you post hints as to what the code actually is. (e.g. "I'd check the blog if I were you..." is fine. "The code rhymes with 'France' and starts with P" is not fine.) Doing either of the latter two is grounds for deactivation. Anyway, once you have a code, go to the SB homepage and type it (capitalisation/punctuation counts!) in the box under your stats (where it says how many SB/referrals/prizes redeemed/swagstakes entries you have) and click Gimme, and it should be added to your total. If you've copied and pasted the code and are not getting anything, make sure there isn't a space before or after it.
So, that's all the ways that I myself earn SB. There's also a "shop and earn" feature, which I've used a few times, but it takes 32 days for the SB to be credited and I just don't have that kind of patience. There's also a "trade-in" feature wherein you can trade old cell phones or video games that you don't want anymore, but I have not done that.
